Stop Staring at Your Phone: Let SAFEhugg Alerts Keep You Connected

Written by SAFEhugg | Sep 14, 2026, 5:28:15 PM

When someone you love is out and about, it’s easy to find yourself checking your phone.

Did they make it to school? Did they get home? Why are they running late? Are they still at the concert? Did they arrive safely?

SAFEhugg was designed to make staying connected easier. Instead of constantly texting, calling, or checking someone’s location, SAFEhugg offers a variety of alerts and notifications that help keep you informed when something important happens.

From everyday arrivals and departures to unexpected situations and true emergencies, different SAFEhugg features provide different types of alerts.

Here are some of the ways SAFEhugg can help you stay connected to the people who matter most.

📍 Places: Arrival & Departure Alerts

Want to know when your child arrives at school, your teenager leaves a friend’s house, or an aging parent gets home?

With Places, you can create important locations such as Home, School, Work, Grandma’s House, Soccer Practice, or a Best Friend’s House.

SAFEhugg can automatically notify selected Guardians when someone:

• Arrives at a Place
• Leaves a Place
• Isn’t where they are expected to be
• Remains somewhere longer than expected

No need for another “Did you make it?” text. SAFEhugg can let you know automatically.

🚗 Trips: Travel & Safe Arrival Alerts

When someone you care about is traveling, Trips helps keep selected Guardians informed from departure to arrival.

During an active Trip, alerts and notifications can let Tripmates know about:

• Unexpected stops lasting longer than 15 minutes
• Delays that affect arrival time
• Route changes that impact arrival time
• Safe arrival at the destination

Think about your teenager driving home after a late-night event, a spouse traveling for work, an aging parent taking a longer drive, or someone heading out alone for a hike or bike ride.

Instead of repeatedly calling or texting, you can stay informed throughout their journey.

🎶 Hangouts: Group & Safety Zone Alerts

Concerts, festivals, theme parks, vacations and nights out are more fun when you’re not constantly trying to keep track of everyone.

Hangouts creates a temporary safety network for your group.

Participants can stay connected through location awareness and group chat, and the group can receive an alert if someone unexpectedly leaves the designated Hangout area.

If someone gets separated, participants can quickly see where group members are instead of sending a stream of “Where are you?” texts.

🤗 Buddy 4 Support: When Something Just Doesn’t Feel Right

Not every uncomfortable situation is an emergency.

Maybe you’re walking to your car late at night. You’re taking a rideshare alone. You’re meeting someone for the first time. Or something simply doesn’t feel right.

Activate Buddy 4 Support, and your four designated Buddies are alerted so they can virtually accompany you.

Your Buddies can follow your live location, view live video, communicate with you, and escalate to authorities if the situation becomes more serious.

It’s an easy way to say, “Keep an eye on me,” without activating a full emergency response.

SAFEhugg immediately begins notifying your support network while activating nearly 20 automated safety features, including live GPS location sharing, real-time video, status updates, and options for escalating the situation to emergency authorities.

Your Buddies receive additional emergency capabilities, while nearby Guardians and the SAFEhugg community can also be alerted.

💙 Guardians & Buddies: The People Behind Your Alerts

Technology is helpful, but the people receiving those alerts are what make SAFEhugg different.

Guardians are the trusted people you choose to be part of your circle of support. From your Guardians, you can select up to four Buddies, your closest contacts who receive additional privileges during Buddy 4 Support and emergency events.

Depending on the SAFEhugg feature being used, your Guardians and Buddies can receive alerts, location updates, safety information, and other important notifications.
