Today, we're highlighting two of the most powerful safety features on the SAFEhugg home screen: the Emergency Alert Huggy Button and Buddy 4 Support. These tools are designed to provide immediate support, connection, and assistance when you need it most.
The Emergency Alert Huggy Button is designed for true emergencies when you need immediate assistance.
Users can activate an emergency alert by pressing and holding the Alert Huggy Button for two seconds or by using a custom safe word or phrase.
Once activated, SAFEhugg immediately notifies your designated Guardians and Buddies while launching nearly 20 automated safety features designed to help you get assistance as quickly as possible.

Unlike Buddy 4 Support, the Emergency Alert Huggy Button also activates the broader SAFEhugg community members located within your geographic area, helping increase awareness and response during a critical event.

Whether you're walking to your car late at night, meeting someone for the first time, taking a rideshare alone, or traveling through an unfamiliar area, Buddy 4 Support allows you to instantly connect with your four designated Buddies.
With one tap, your Buddies can virtually accompany you through live video and location sharing while monitoring the situation in real time.
Many people ask about the difference between Guardians and Buddies.
Guardians are the trusted individuals you've invited to connect with you through the SAFEhugg app. Depending on the feature being used, Guardians can receive notifications, location updates, alarms, and other safety-related information.
Buddies are your four most trusted contacts, selected from your Guardians. They receive additional permissions and support capabilities that allow them to play a more active role during safety events.
When you activate Buddy 4 Support, only your four designated Buddies are notified. They can view your live video, monitor your location, communicate with you in real time, and provide support during the situation.
When you activate the Emergency Alert Huggy Button, all of your Guardians in the area are automatically alerted, while your four Buddies receive enhanced emergency privileges. In addition, the SAFEhugg community is also notified, helping increase awareness and support during a critical situation.
This structure allows SAFEhugg to provide the right level of support, whether you need a few trusted friends watching out for you or immediate assistance from your broader safety network.
